Melbourne Opera completes its historic cycle of all of Richard Wagner's major works with a new production of Wagner’s last great masterpiece, Parsifal.

One of the most influential works in the musical repertoire, Wagner broke new operatic paths with this towering work about compassion, redemption and renewal, which features some of his greatest and most innovative music.

Once again, Melbourne Opera has engaged a magnificent all Australian cast led musically by one of the world’s greatest Wagnerian conductors Anthony Negus CBE. Director Suzanne Chaundy, acclaimed for her extraordinary series of Wagnerian productions, directs this superb cast led by Warwick Fyfe as Gurnemanz, Anna-Louise Cole as Kundry, Bradley Cooper as Parsifal, Christopher Hillier as Amfortas and Christopher Tonkin as Klingsor with the 90 strong Melbourne Opera Chorus and full scale 100 piece Melbourne Opera Orchestra.

The Regent Theatre, where Melbourne Opera has already successfully staged Lohengrin, Tannhäuser, The Flying Dutchman, and Das Rheingold to great acclaim is the perfect venue for this transcendent new production.
