Shai Maestro

With multiple acclaimed releases on ECM Records, Maestro joined the celebrated lineage of pianists who have defined the label and has built a wide-ranging international career as a pianist, composer, bandleader and collaborator.

His 2026 release The Guesthouse marks a pivotal new chapter in his creative journey. Building on the spirit of openness and exploration that has long characterised his music, Maestro expands beyond open-ended improvisation into more focused songwriting and dynamic production.

Rooted in jazz yet reaching far beyond it, The Guesthouse draws inspiration from a broad spectrum of influences, from Rosalía to Paul Simon to John Coltrane. This October, Maestro and his trio – featuring Reuben Rogers on bass and Ofri Nehemya on drums – present music from the acclaimed new album alongside the adventurous improvisation and emotional depth that have made him one of the most compelling pianists of his generation.
