Making his Australian debut in December 2025, Sombr instantly sold out dates across the country and blew crowds away at Spilt Milk Festival. Since then, he has released his debut album, I Barely Know Her , and toured extensively around the globe. Now, Sombr returns in 2027 as one of music’s most talked-about new talents, bringing his emotionally charged songwriting and genre-blurring sound back to Melbourne.
Fast emerging as one of music’s most compelling new voices, Sombr has earned critical acclaim for his emotionally charged songwriting and genre-blurring sound. Dubbed “Gen Z’s rockstar heir”, the New York-born singer-songwriter found his voice in a makeshift bedroom studio on the Lower East Side and remains the sole writer and co-producer of his chart-topping music. His debut album, I Barely Know Her , released in mid-2025, was met with widespread acclaim, while three singles from the album, “back to friends”, “12 to 12” and “undressed”, charted simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sombr’s meteoric rise has extended to the live stage, with performances at major festivals alongside rapidly sold-out headline tours. His 2026 singles “Homewrecker” and “Potential” have showcased his continued artistic evolution, followed by “My Body Isn’t Ready”, which debuted in the Top 10 worldwide and matched his UK chart record.
