Time Remaining

Kinetic lasers and light scan bodies in an atmospheric dance, mesmerising and menacing. At moments dancers are led by the patterns around them; at others they push against them, testing what the system will allow. A constant negotiation of control and survival, between human presence and contemporary machines. Costume and material design draws on archetypal performers from eras past and creates an unsettling image. Performers appear as an endangered presence, caught in an ongoing contest with the technologies that grip our world. Time Remaining is the latest work by acclaimed Chunky Move Artistic Director Antony Hamilton , created in collaboration with technical designers Nick Roux and Nicholas Moloney . Time Remaining is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
