Transmissions at SIGNAL

An immersive sonic dialogue between the city and the river. Each evening from dusk, the north bank of the Yarra River – Birrarung becomes a space to slow down and pay attention. Hyper Birrarung — a video and sound work by Liwen Lian with Anh Tran — moves across the night alongside a spatial sound installation drawn from SIGNAL’s archive of young artist commissions. Together, they shape a layered environment that accumulates and transforms as the hours pass. The river is held not as backdrop, but as a living entity with its own stories and memory. Interwoven throughout, voices, textures and sonic experiments from SIGNAL commissions travel across a speaker array—layered, expanded and in constant dialogue with the city around it. Keep wandering.
