Care for Country, woven by hand. Join Creative Climate at Westgate Park for a hands-on workshop led by ecologist and Yorta Yorta/Barapa Barapa man Kai Lane . Using Indigenous weaving practices, participants will collect tangled lignum (Duma florulenta) and create Yedabila habitat pods, a protective shelter for the Eastern long-necked turtle hatchlings that call the park home. Together, you’ll also plant native species along the edge of the freshwater lake, helping strengthen and diversify the local ecosystem. Part workshop, part care for Country, this is an opportunity to connect with place through practical action, cultural knowledge and collective stewardship. Small acts contribute to a brighter future, built together.
