Banksia Concert

The Festival of Instrumental Music features musically diverse performances from more than 1000 public school students in Combined Recorder and String Ensembles, supported by individual items from talented vocalists, instrumental soloists and ensembles. The Combined Recorder repertoire includes Viva La Vida by Coldplay arranged by Tracy Burjan; the traditional The Turtle Dove in a new arrangement by Daniel Murphy; and Stephen Chin’s Pagodas by the Heavenly Lake to be performed with the Combined Strings. The string repertoire also includes Ares by Jay Cole and Sea of Stars by Liam Ramsey-White. This Festival will also feature the NSW Public Schools Senior and Junior State Wind Bands, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, Sinfonia, Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra.
