Colossus Music Festival

COLLOSSUS is a curated festival at the intersection of avant-garde practice and contemporary live music. Its programme brings together artists working across progressive rock, symphonic and operatic metal, contemporary metal incorporating Chinese traditional instruments, contemporary jazz, and experimental electronic performance. Though distinct in form, these practices are united by a commitment to artistic inquiry, innovation, and the continual reimagining of musical language. Rather than presenting genres as fixed identities, COLLOSSUS foregrounds dialogue—between tradition and experimentation, composition and improvisation, acoustic practice and emerging technology, local narratives and global perspectives. Each edition is conceived as a single curatorial statement, inviting audiences into an environment where music is experienced not simply as entertainment, but as a living, evolving artistic practice. ________________ We acknowledge that this event is held on the stolen lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.
