Cassie and Jordan don’t know each other from a bar of soap. Jordan is a Noongar DJ with street smarts and attitude. Cassie is a Kalkadoon forensic investigator, used to calmly solving problems from the outside, not finding herself in the midst of them. But now Cassie and Jordan are in a car with a biker ex on their tails. How did they get in this mess? And what, as they drive from Perth to the Kimberley, will this contemporary odd couple learn from each other?
A witty, sharp road-play drama of two young women, a return to Country, and some serious shit. This one will be a lot of fun – and there are some pearls of wisdom along the way, if I can mix my gemstones for a moment. Abbie-lee’s written one of the most spirited, entertaining and clever new Australian plays in years, and we’ll do it with a very Belvoir use of video (in a nod to the play’s Hollywood inspiration) plus a soundtrack that’ll get the blood pumping. And check out the talent of Ruby Henaway (as Jordan) and Logie winner Lila McGuire (Cassie) making their Belvoir debuts. Stunning. Eamon
