A family gathers.

The cameras roll. The audience watches. Then everything begins to unravel.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Fairview is one of the defining plays of the twenty-first century. Reimagined inside the world of an Australian television studio, this bold new production unfolds as the filming of a live multicamera sitcom, exposing the mechanics of race, spectatorship and performance.

Described as “a shape-shifting study in Black and white perceptions,” Fairview asks one unsettling question:

Who gets to watch, and who is made to be seen?

WHAT IS 25A? 25A is a Belvoir initiative to support the artists of the future. It has been made by independent and emerging artists. They have produced and marketed it themselves. They get 100% of the box office and the theatre for free. Their task is to make a show for less than $2500. Thanks for supporting the artists of the future.
