The UK’s hypnotic avant-pop trio arrive in the Utzon Room Tara Clerkin Trio are perhaps the most mesmerising emerging act to come out of the UK.

Just announced on the 2026 Meredith Festival lineup and fresh from their critically acclaimed album Somewhere Good, the band mark their Sydney Opera House debut in the iconic Utzon Room.

Formed in Bristol in 2020, the trio - Tara Clerkin, her partner Sunny Joe Paradisos and Sunny’s brother, Patrick Benjamin are less concerned with genre as with texture and feeling, blending jazz, folk, trip-hop, avant-pop into modern compositions – think Portishead meets The Durutti Column.

To hear them live is to immerse yourself in their dynamic, boldly intuitive and rare universe. Clerkin’s luminous vocal witchery anchors the trio as they trace everyday melancholy, personal dissociation and urban changes, all delivered with a distinctly relaxed energy.

Songs are given the space to breathe, stretch out and evolve naturally and every minor imperfection is embraced. If you’re after unorthodox instrumentation that feels genuinely alive, this is set to be intriguing in ways you won’t expect. Secure your ticket before it sells out. Presented by Sydney Opera House
