The Avalanches

One of Australia’s most enigmatic and innovative acts, The Avalanches are back with their first new album in six years – and they’re returning to the House to celebrate. Renowned for their plunderphonics style blending electronic, hip-hop, funk and psychedelic pop samples from Madonna to Sesame Street and collaborations from MF Doom to Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, The Avalanches are three decades into their illustrious musical career. After bursting onto the scene with the ARIA Award-winning Since I Left You (2000) – featuring the memorable horse whinnies of Frontier Psychiatrist and widely regarded as one of the best Australian albums of all time – they released their long-awaited sophomore album Wildflower (2016), followed by We Will Always Love You (2020) . Now they’re back with No Bad Memories : a 31-track exploration of nostalgia and consumer culture boasting collaborations with Karen O, Jamie xx and more. A decade after their last House appearance, The Avalanches return to round out our summer Forecourt series. They’re joined by fellow Australian producer HAAi, known for her boundary-pushing blend of psychedelia, techno and powerful beats, alongside other special guests to be announced. Known for live shows blending unexpected mixes, heart- and fist-pumping energy and an undeniable sense of communal joy, The Avalanches are gearing up to transform the Forecourt into a giant dancefloor.
