Sidekicks by Stephen Vagg

Are you the star of your own story…or just someone else’s sidekick?
From acclaimed Australian writer Stephen Vagg comes “Sidekicks”, a smart, funny and heartfelt romantic comedy with a serious subtext. Witty, warm and painfully relatable, it explores friendship, love and the question we all quietly ask ourselves – what if we’re not the main character?
After delighting audiences at the Sydney Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe, Sidekicks made its Brisbane debut at Pip theatre in February 2026 to critical and audience acclaim.
Packed with razor-sharp dialogue and emotional insight, this is a story for anyone who’s ever stood in the wings…waiting for their spotlight.
