DanceRites 2026

DanceRites returns to the Forecourt on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance groups from across the continent will represent their country and community on the sand circle stage, competing for a total prize pool of $50,000. In Australia’s only national First Nations dance competition, all groups will represent their local storytelling and language in the Cultural Dance and Song Cycle category. Groups also have the choice to showcase their distinct style in the optional Wild Card category.
