Join Bada on a hilarious deep-sea adventure as she searches for her missing father. Making its Australian debut, this groundbreaking performance performs gravity-defying scenes lying down to a live overhead camera – to tell you a story from a whole new perspective. Waiting! begins with a young girl who longs to reunite with her father, a fisherman. But her journey takes an unexpected twist when she gets swallowed by a whale. Gulp! What sounds like the end of her adventure is actually the beginning – as she discovers a world of glowing, glittery underwater friends deep within the whale's belly. After a journey beyond her wildest imagination, will she ever find her way back to her father? Waiting! is performed in both Korean and English, with a strong visual storytelling component with the use of live camera feed and projections. Before and after the performance, join us in the foyer for some creative play and make your very own under-the-sea creatures. For a deeper experience, on Wednesday 30 September, after the 2:30pm show, join the Korean cast for a discussion about Waiting! Young audiences can ask the artists questions and hear about the inspiration behind the show. Winner of the 2024 International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People Seoul Children's Theatre Grand Prize and Best Director Award. This Australian premiere season is made possible through the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) and K-arts on the GO.
